Polce claim cracking Rs 5-lakh robbery case

JAIPUR: Claiming to crack the case of robbery of Rs 5 lakh which occurred on September 22, police on Friday arrested an employee of a firm who had planned, with three others, to rob the firm. The three accomplices of have many cases of loot, kidnapping and murder registered against them at various police stations.
According to SP (north) Ashok Naruka, Ram Sharma and Sanwarmal Yadav, collection agents of the firm owned by Mahendra Pal Agrawal were carrying Rs 5 lakh in a bag when they were robbed by three motorcycle-borne persons near Road no 1 in Vishwakarma.The police claimed that Ram Sharma had hatched the conspiracy with three others, identified as Haji Mastan (26), Prashant Mishra and Shakti Singh.
The police arrested Haji Mastan and Ram Sharma, while Prashant Mishra and Shakti Singh are absconding.
SP Naruka said that Ram Sharma, who is a resident of Madhya Pradesh but lives in Harmara area in Jaipur, was in contact with Prashant Mishra and Shakti Singh who lived nearby. "Prashant and Shakti Singh are known-criminals and have cases of loot, kidnapping and illegal possession of arms registered against them," said Naruka. Ram used to drink with the duo and tell them about the huge money which was collected from the firm's clients, he added.
On September 22, Ram Sharma allegedly told the duo about Rs 5 lakh which he and another employee Sanwarmal Yadav were carrying in a bag. "Prashant, Shakti Singh and Haji intercepted Ram Sharma and Sanwarmal and robbed them of Rs 5 lakh and mobiles," said the officer.
A police team led by circle officer, Vishawakarma Ramswaroop, investigated and found Ram Sharma leading a lavish life after the incident. On this suspicion, the police interrogated Ram who reportedly confessed to having conspired with Prashant and Shakti Singh. The police are searching Prashant and Shakti.
