PM Rungta Memorial Golf Cup 2026: Arjun Kucchal bags overall gross winner rolling trophy
Jaipur: Arjun Kucchal grabbed the overall gross winner rolling trophy in the Shri PM Rungta Memorial Golf Cup 2026, which was held at Rambagh Golf Club here on Sunday. The one-day golf event witnessed participation from nearly 143 golfers.The tournament concluded with a grand award distribution ceremony, where winners and runners-up from different categories and handicaps were felicitated.
The tourney saw participation from golfers belonging to diverse backgrounds, including bureaucrats, industry members, judges, army personnel, and railway officers. The event was played in the stableford – single peoria format.Celebrity golfers including Kapil Dev, Madan Lal, Gagan Khoda and Amrit Mathur were also present on the occasion. The runners-up of the handicap categories included Deep Karan Singh in the 0-9 category, Yogendra Singh in the 10-18 section, and Yogendra Gotewala in the 19–24 group.The winners of the handicap categories comprised Himanshu Singh in the 0-9 category, Devendra Rajawat in the 10-18 section, and Ankur Thakur in the 19-24 category. The veteran golfer award was secured by Dr Basant Khaitan, while the lady golfer title was won by Vimmi Bhatia.Kapil Dev said, "It's truly inspiring to see such enthusiasm for golf and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by all participants. Events like the Shri PM Rungta Memorial Golf Cup not only promote sport but also bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds. I congratulate all the winners and look forward to seeing this tournament grow in the coming years."Gaurav Rungta, trustee of Shri PM Rungta Foundation, stated that the tournament serves as a platform to promote sportsmanship while reflecting the growing passion and interest in golf. He emphasized that golf is not just a game but a medium to foster discipline, patience, and strategic thinking. He highlighted the goal of making the sport more popular to encourage new players to engage with it. He announced that the tournament will be organised annually and that the foundation will support emerging young players by providing them with training and development opportunities.The Shri P. M. Rungta Foundation, established in 2013 in memory of late PM Rungta, has been actively involved in education, healthcare, and sports development. It plays a significant role in managing Sanskrit colleges, supporting tribal schools, running mid-day meal programs, and organising eye-care camps. Additionally, the foundation provides sponsorship for young emerging talents.
