JAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased, who lost their lives in the gas tanker fire incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway, and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
"Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the accident on Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Rajasthan. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. The local administration is assisting those affected. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000," the PM wrote on 'X'.
Prime Minister Modi also spoke to Rajasthan chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma to inquire and offer support regarding the fire incident, news agency ANI reported.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his condolences, saying, "The road accident in Jaipur, Rajasthan is deeply tragic. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. I have spoken with chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma regarding this. The local administration is providing immediate treatment to the injured. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."
