PM Modi inaugurates development projects worth Rs 7,000 crore in Chittorgarh
CHITTORGARH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation various development projects worth about Rs 7,000 crore and laid the foundation stones for some others in Chittorgarh on Monday.
The projects he inaugurated include the Mehsana-Bhatinda-Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline, an LPG Plant of HPCL at Abu Road, additional storage of a bottling plant of IOCL in Ajmer, tourism facilities at Nathdwara, the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Kota, a four-lane road on NH-12 (New NH-52) on the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section built at a cost of over Rs 1,480 crore, and some railway projects.
Addressing a gathering, Modi remembered the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and thanked citizens for the cleanliness campaign around the country a day before. He highlighted Gandhi's principles on cleanliness, self-reliance and competitive development, saying the nation has been working on these principles in the last nine years.
He said an unprecedented campaign to lay gas pipelines is on across the country to strengthen a gas-based economy. He said the railway and road projects he inaugurated would make the lives of the people of Mewar easier. Highlighting the significance of Shri Sanwaliyaji Temple among the business owners' community, Modi said modern facilities have been added to this temple under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.
"Rajasthan's development is a huge priority for the government of India. We have focused a lot on modern infrastructure like expressways, highways and railways in Rajasthan. Be it Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, or Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, these are going to give new strength to the logistics sector in Rajasthan," said the PM, adding that Rajasthan is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Bharatmala project. Dozens of border villages in Rajasthan will benefit from the Centre's Vibrant Village Programme, he said. Modi said the four-lane road on NH-12 that he inaugurated would make the transportation of mines produce from Kota and Jhalawar districts easier. Widening of an ROB in Sawai Madhopur, for which he laid the foundation stone, would provide relief from traffic jams, he added. He inaugurated the doubling of the Chittorgarh-Neemuch railway line and the Kota-Chittorgarh electrified railway line.
