JAIPUR: Just 7.6% (147) people have got placements in Rajasthan of the total beneficiaries (1,927) trained under the Centre’s PM-Daksh scheme in 2021-22, a

Lok Sabha

reply stated.

It also stated that skill development training has been completed for 490 beneficiaries out of 1,927 under the scheme.

According to the reply, 2,775 candidates have registered themselves on the Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-Daksh) portal in the state, and 36 graduates have benefited from the scheme.

Minister of state (MoS) for social justice and empowerment Pratima Bhoumik said this while replying to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha on March 29.

PM-DAKSH Yojana is a national action plan for skill development training of marginalised persons covering SCs, OBCs, EBCs (economically backward classes), DNTs (denitrified tribes), sanitation workers including waste pickers. The basic objective of the scheme is to enhance their competencies to make them self-employed and uplifting these marginalised target groups.

“The ministry of social justice and empowerment is implementing the PM-Daksh scheme across the country from 2020-21 through three corporations, viz. National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) for SC beneficiaries; National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (

NBCFDC

) for OBC/EBC/DNT beneficiaries; and National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (

NSKFDC

) for safai karamcharis, including waste pickers.”

The data further revealed that of the 1,927 beneficiaries trained in the state, 798 were provided skill development training under NSFDC and 1,129 were given training under NBCFDC. However, not a single person has been trained under NSKFDC.

It also stated that while 97 were provided placements through NSFDC, 50 of them got placements through NBCFDC. The senior officials at the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) could not be reached for comments.
