JAIPUR: In all, 10,193 people belonging to denotified/nomadic tribes - including Banjara, Gadia-Lohars, Kanjar, Bagri, Baori and others - have been added to the electoral rolls as a part of the special summary revision programme organised by the state’s election department.

At present, there are 2.06 lakh denotified/nomadic tribe voters in the state, said state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta.

Meanwhile, 4.16 lakh applications of youths, belonging to 17+ years of age, were received by the department. “One lakh new voters will be registered in April 2023, 1.50 lakh in July and 1.66 lakh in October,” said Gupta.

In all, 19.89 lakh new voters have been added to the electoral roll from 199 assembly constituencies as the final publication of voters’ list was issued on Thursday. tnn
