Jaipur: A rural development and panchayati raj department document shows that only one district (Churu) has finalised its basic schedule of rates (BSR) or estimates for various building and construction works for the next financial year (2022-23). The department has instructed all district collectors to finalise their BSRs for the upcoming financial year by April 1.
In the remaining 32 districts of the 345 panchayat samitis, the BSR values have been proposed in 228 panchayat samitis. In Churu district, the BSR rates of all the seven panchayat samitis have been made effective. In seven districts, there has been no progress in making proposals for BSR rates. These are Bharatpur, Bundi, Dholpur, Jodhpur,

Kota

and

Pratapgarh

.
According to the document, in 13 districts, the BSR rates have been proposed in all the panchayat samitis (Ajmer, Banswara, Baran, Bikaner, Dausa, Dungarpur, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jaisalmer,

Pali

, Sirohi and Udaipur).
However, in 12 districts, BSR rates have been proposed in some panchayat samitis. These are Alwar, Barmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh,

Jhalawar

, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Nagaur, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar and Tonk.
“The districts are supposed to finalise their BSR rates by April 1. The basic rates of various works are decided by a committee headed by the district collector. The districts are delaying in deciding their rates because of fluctuation in the market rates of various materials,” said an official.
