JAIPUR: One of the accused in the
murder case of a student pursuing BBA here was arrested on Thursday.
Police investigating the murder of
Amit Yadav claimed that verbal confrontations and ego clashes were the main reasons why he was stabbed to death, almost a fortnight ago.
In another breakthrough, the third accused in the case was arrested and preliminary interrogations have suggested that all four accused wanted to teach Amit a lesson after their verbal confrontation with him.
Rupinder Singh (19), son of a head constable , was arrested by Murlipura police early on Thursday. Earlier, the police had arrested another accused Narendra Singh.
Amit Yadav (25) was allegedly stabbed to death by four youths while he was having tea at a stall in crowded Bandhu Nagar locality on December 15.
“The causes leading to the stabbing incident that came up in our investigations are verbal confrontation and ego clashes. The accused were younger than the victim and the urge to teach a lesson to Amit instigated them to commit the murder,” an investigating officer of the case said.
“The deceased also had a scuffle with one of the accused Narendra Singh three months ago. Since then, he was also planning to attack Amit,” the officer said. On the other accused to be arrested, the officer said, “There is also an accused, Rahul Verma. We have got concrete clues on his whereabouts and he too would be arrested soon.”
Senior police officers were surprised by the developments of the murder case in which the accused were arrested one after another. “They have no criminal record. But their fit of anger put them in trouble,” the investigating officer added.
