According to police, the accused identified as Guru Dutt Singh had killed a driver Har Govind in a guest house situated on the Ajmer Road’s Bhankrota area on August 11. “He had booked the cab as Narendra Jha. We had constituted a team and through technical surveillance and other things it was found that the accused was hiding in Delhi. During raid, it was found that his name was Guru Dutt Singh and had given a wrong identity to book the cab,” said Ashok Gupta, deputy commissioner of police (West) said on Monday.

“After the murder, he had decamped with the SUV of the driver and was trying to sell it in Kota. The CCTV footages showing the accused also proved handy for us. The weapon used in the murder has also been seized,” said Gupta.

On August 11, the murder came to light when the hotel staff saw blood-stained footmarks on the floor especially outside the room in which the duo had checked in.
