City police on Wednesday arrested a person who had robbed a resident of Shyam Nagar of Rs 3 lakh on the pretext of giving him dollars at reduced rate in return.

JAIPUR: City police on Wednesday arrested a person who had robbed a resident of Shyam Nagar of Rs 3 lakh on the pretext of giving him dollars at reduced rate in return.
According to the complaint, Mukesh Kumar Yadav ( 30) was standing on Sikar Road on January 12 when he was approached by a man who claimed that he was looking for work and was willing to be employed as help.

DCP South, Yogesh Dadhich said, “The complainant called the man to his office the next day. The person came with the accused.”
The accused, identified as Rafiq Shaikh, 24, told Yadav that his aunt had $1,600 which he wanted to exchange for Indian currency. “On January 16, the accused called the complainant to his aunt’s place in Gujjar ki Thadi. When Yadav and his wife reached the location, two persons got into their vehicle and asked them to drive to a lane. The complainant said the accused made them sniff something after which they fell unconscious. When they regained consciousness, they found Rs 3 lakh and a laptop missing,” the official said.
