Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday termed Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur’s statement on implementation of old pension scheme (OPS) in Rajasthan as “unfortunate”, saying pension cases of more than 100 employees, appointed and retired after January 1, 2004, have been settled.
“The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Jai Ram Thakur has given an unfortunate statement that OPS has not been implemented in Rajasthan. After the implementation of OPS in Rajasthan, pension cases of more than 100 employees, who were appointed and retired after January 1, 2004, have been settled,” tweeted Gehlot. “Thakur must remember that then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government had implemented the new pension scheme (NPS) for employees appointed on and after January 1, 2004, replacing the OPS. Due to this, there is a feeling of insecurity among the employees and they are worried,” he added. TNN
