Rajasthan: Now, teacher transfer applications online

JAIPUR: The state education department has invited online applications for transfer of teachers in three phases with the first phase beginning from September 9. There are around 3.75 lakh teachers in 69,000 government schools in the state.


The department has asked teachers that no offline application would be entertained at any office across the state.

In the first phase, principals and headmasters can apply for transfers from September 6-9, lecturers can apply from September 11-14 and grade II teachers can apply from September 16-19. The process of transfers will be completed on or before September 25. The online application will be submitted at rajshaladarpan.nic.in

The website will generate a registration number for each applicant.

Education minister Govind Singh Dotasra told TOI, “The move is being taken to bring transparency in the system by giving everyone equal opportunity to apply for transfers. Our department has formed a clear policy for granting transfers purely on the basis of merit.” The minister, however, has not clarified on the merit system which will be followed for the transfers.

It is also not clear that when the first list of transfers will be announced. The grade III teachers have been kept out of the transfer process. Transfers are granted primarily on the basis of health grounds, family and political affiliation.

This is Gehlot's government’s first transfer opening for teachers at the mass level.
