Newly built Kota hosp ceiling leaks
Kota: The first spell of monsoon showers has shown the poor quality construction of recently inaugurated Jay Kay Lon hospital building, where water dripped from the In-Patient Department (IPD) ward’s ceiling on Sunday night. It accumulated in the gallery and the lift, causing trouble to patients and attendants and prompting the hospital authorities to swing into action.
Moderate to heavy rains lashed Kota on Sunday evening and continued till late night, causing water to accumulate on the roof of the new hospital building.

As heaps of garbage have been lying on the terrace, there was no outlet for accumulated water, finally leading to the roof dripping.
The newly constructed IPD and OPD buildings in Kota division’s largest Jay Kay Lon hospital were recently inaugurated. The hospital’s IPD building accommodates 183 paediatric beds.
According to sources, the building’s terrace had not been cleaned since construction, to top it the narrow outlet led to accumulation of water. However, nursing superintendent of the ward Bhagwan claimed that the terrace had been cleaned thrice in last two months. He added that there were some points in the roof through which the rain water leaked. The repairing work for the same will begin soon, he said.
