New body of Sawai Man Singh medical college teachers

JAIPUR: A group of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) medical college teachers formed a new body ‘Medical College Teachers Association of Rajasthan’ (MCTAR) at Jaipur Medical Association (JMA) hall at SMS hospital on Sunday. There is one already existing Rajasthan Medical College Teachers’ Association (RMCTA), whose elections were held recently. However, a new body of medical college teachers’ association is seen as rise of a new group of teachers in SMS Medical College.
They have formed a working committee, which will work in the direction of getting MCTAR registered under Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Act.Dr Pawan Singhal, professor (ENT), SMS Medical College, who has been nominated as one of the three secretaries of working committee, said, “December 9, 2018 may well go down as the red-letter day in the history of the medical teachers of Rajasthan.”
He added, “The teachers here gathered at JMA to form an association of like-minded and well intentioned individuals whose primary objective would not only be to safeguard their interests and improve the system by cleaning the rot, but also make the fraternity more answerable to the society and hence more acceptable and transparent to its members.”
