Dil Se Dil Tak

, says, “My father has always given me the freedom to make my choices in my life – be it in personal or professional – and has always respected me for the same. I credit my success to the trust and freedom that he gave me, which no materialistic gifts can match. My father has always encouraged me to act and has always supported me in all my decisions. I remember once sitting with him near a dam and having a discussion on my career, and that is something which I will never forget.”

‘My father is my superhero who makes everyone happy’

Priyanshu Jora

, the host of High Fever Dance Ka Naya Tevar, recalls and says, “I remember when we were back in Rajasthan and I had asked my father to buy a car. I was barely a six-year-old child then. He kept dismissing the thought and asked us to save money. One day, I saw him counting huge amount of cash that was piled up on our bed. I asked him, ‘Papa itne paise kahaan se aaye humare paas. Aap ne toh kaha tha humare paas paise nahi hain.’ My father told me, ‘Arrey nahi yeh toh kisi aur ke hain.’ Now when we recall that incident, we share a good laugh. My dad is my superhero and we call him ‘family man’ as he is a completely self-made man, who started from scratch and ensured that he gave us comfortable and luxurious life. With his superpowers, he makes everyone around him happy and ensures that his family members are comfortable.”

‘Papa once got me a parrot from Hawa Mahal after I acted stubborn’
Aniruddh Dave, who is known for his role in Suryaputra Karn, says, “When I was five years old, I used to play with utensils to create music. I was very inclined towards music and seeing my passion for it, one day papa bought a bongo for me. He later used to buy audio cassettes for me; till date I have 500 cassettes in my collection that have been gifted by him. He has always fulfilled all my wants. Papa once got me a parrot from Hawa Mahal after I acted stubborn.” He adds, “Being foodies, we would often stop by at LMB and Mahavir Rabri. One of the best Father’s Day memories has to be the one when he took me out for dinner after shopping for my favourite pair of shoes. I had also made a card for him.”

Mitegi Lakshman Rekha

, says, “He never shied away from criticising or giving me a hard time and I realised it much later in life that it was quite necessary. It gave me the much-needed inspiration to grow in life. I remember him emphasising on the importance of hard work by taking me around the farms when I was a kid. He used to explain to me the entire process of growing crops. I am glad that my father is in Mumbai today; we will share a hearty father and son talk and keep it really simple. My dad is a superhero for me and cannot be compared to any other type of hero.”

‘I had paid my dad a surprise visit in Jaipur on father’s day’
Rohit Purohit, who plays Alexander in

Porus

, says, “My father has influenced my life in a lot of ways and has inspired me to become what I am today. He is not one of those fathers who will make you sit and teach you things, instead, he is someone who taught me things by doing it himself. He is the most hard-working, composed and honest person that I have ever come across. Not just from his personal traits, but there is also a lot to learn from his work ethics.” He adds, “The best memory is of three years ago, when I paid a surprise visit to Jaipur on Father’s Day. We also watched a movie together.”

‘I wish my father was Superman so that we could travel the world together’

Yukti Kapoor

, who plays the character of Ragini in

Agnifera

, says, “I remember an incident when I bunked school and went to a mall with my friends. My father caught me there and instead of getting irritated or angry, he did something unexpected, which changed my perspective on him. He politely told me that it was fine to bunk school for a break or holiday. With this incident, he taught me to be honest. I would also like to teach my children to be honest, without worrying about what others might think. My parents stay in Jaipur and I live in Mumbai, so I can’t be with him today on Father’s Day but I am sending him flowers and a handwritten letter. I am going to call him every hour and tell him how awesome he is. I wish my father was Superman so that we could travel the world together.”
