Jaipur: With the aim to promote ayurveda and highlight its role in fighting malnutrition, the National Institute of Ayurveda and

Ministry of AYUSH

inaugurated its AYUSH Expo and Food Festival at

Jawahar Kala Kendra

on Friday.
The expo witnessed live performances, live recipe demonstrations, quizzes, cultural programmes by the tribal federation, lucky draws and lectures for the general public on healthy eating habits.
On the occasion, Shubhash Garg, minister of state for ayurveda and Indian systems of medicine, said, "Ayurveda has been an age-old tradition which has been followed by all of us in some way or the other. However, its importance seems to have diminished with time, especially with the youth today. We must incorporate ayurvedic aahar in the curriculum of children from standard 6 to 12 to imbibe healthy eating habits in their day-to-day lives. AYUSH must take the lead to incorporate aahar for girls in rural schools from 6-9 grades to resolve the unending challenge of anaemia among them". tnn
