JAIPUR: Some of them were the only earning members in the family who wanted to increase their earnings while many of them were so poor that they took money on high interest rates to get a job in Saudi Arabia. However, after the police busted the racket of illegal immigration and arrested three persons at Kardhani area, most of them are hopeful of getting their money back.
The Kalawar Road-situated travel agency had given an advertisement on December 31, 2013 promising various jobs in a company in Saudi Arabia and had asked for Rs 50,000 from the applicants to get them job and VISA.
Nazar Ali, a 27-year-old from Lakheri village in Bundi district was keen to apply for the job of a cleaner after he saw an advertisement. As he needed Rs 50,000 to pay to the travel agency, he organised the money by paying higher interest rates.
"A person of our group who got a VISA from the company and got it verified came to know that it was a fake VISA. Thankfully by then I had paid merely Rs 5,000 which was sought by the company for the medical examination of the aspirants applying for various jobs," Ali said while talking to TOI on Sunday after police busted the racket.
Ali though leaves in a joint family, but to earn good money he too had applied and got trapped.
He added that he needed a job in Saudi Arabia to ensure better education for his daughter and a better life for the family.
Like him others from Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi and other places have also become the victims of cheating racket.
"We made a mistake and thankfully we realized it before leaving for or reaching Saudi Arabia. Though we have lost some money, we hope to recover it with the help of police," said Asif Mohammed, another victim who hails from Jaipur.
