JAIPUR: The state has received 34.7% more rainfall this year, though there are a few districts where
monsoon hasn’t been that bountiful.
Jaipur Met office on Thursday said except for a few more spells of scattered rainfall, there won’t be any more widespread showers.
According to weathermen, Pratapgarh district received 1136.88mm rainfall, the highest in the state this year. Compared to 2018, the district clocked 44.86% more rains. Sriganganagar with 112.99mm was at the lowest position.
“Rainfall in Sriganganagar is 34.4% less compared to what it had received in 2018,” said a senior officer.
Jaipur, too, got plentiful rainfall that helped in recharging its water reservoirs. “Jaipur district received 633.72mm of rainfall, 26.6% more than what it had received last year,” the officer added.
Barring Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh,
Alwar
, Bharatpur and Karauli, majority of the districts witnessed abnormal, excess and normal rainfall. A good monsoon also brought plenty of water to the dams, including Bisalpur Dam (Tonk), Kota Barrage (Kota), Jawahar Sagar (Kota), Rana Pratap Sagar (Chittorgarh), Mahi Dam (Banswara), Parvati Dam ( Dholpur),
Jawai Dam (Pali) and Jaisamand Dam (Udaipur).
“Majority of these dams are either 100% filled or are filled up to 95%,” said an officer. Monsoon season has also recharged local rivers which were dry for many years.

got water after almost 25 years,” said an officer.
