JAIPUR: The son of a minister in the Vasundhara Raje cabinet in Rajasthan was on Wednesday arrested on charges of creating public nuisance and breaking law. Deva Lal, panchayat raj and rural development minister Kalu Lal Gujjar's son, was, however, released on bail after furnishing a personal surety of Rs 2 lakh, said Bhilwara SP Mohan Singhra.
Deva Lal is highly critical of his father for not joining the ongoing Gujjar protests, demanding inclusion in the ST list.
He has also accused his father of being power hungry and demanded his resignation.
"My father should be grateful to the Gujjar community for his political existence. But he has sacrificed the interest of the community because of power, for which he would never be spared. Cops are harassing the community people and my father remained a mute spectator," Deva Lal told
TOI. Deva Lal has been involved in the agitations and has been critical of BJP government in Rajasthan.
