JAISALMER: The Army paid tribute to Sepoy Dharma Ram, who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu & Kashmir on May 25, 2015. The ceremony was conducted at Taratara village in Barmer district, where the memorial has been constructed by the help of residents of the village. The unveiling of the memorial at Taratara village was attended by Army chief General Bipin Rawat, Lt General Dewan Rabindranath Soni, general officer commanding-in-chief, Southern Command and Lieutenant General RK Jagga, General officer commanding, Konark Corps.

Defence spokeperson Lt. Col. Manish Ojha said, the solemn event commenced with the unveiling of the memorial by the chief of Army staff followed by wreath laying to pay tribute to this brave son of the country.
Speaking on occasion, Rawat addressed the gathering and expressed gratitude for the state’s invaluable contribution towards defence of the motherland. The dignitaries also interacted with the martyr’s family at the occasion and shared their concerns.
