Mascot, jingle, slogans & posters to maintain good turnout on poll day

The Hanumangarh district administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a good turnout on December 7.

From making small blue kingfisher, the district bird which commonly found in the region as the

mascot

of the campaign, to writing slogans, the administration is carrying out an extensive campaign.

Senior district officials are participating in the campaign, with an additional district magistrate singing a jingle in local dialect. The jingle is being played during all the campaign events. The administration has made a mascot, named Votu.

“In order to improve the 2013 turnout, which was 85%, we have launched a number of initiatives.

of Votu asking people to come out and vote have been put up across the district,” said district collector Dinesh Chand Jain.

Jain has been issuing signed certificates to people for taking a pledge to voting. “The administration has launched an app for people to log in and take the pledge and they are getting a signed certificate on their name,” Jain said.

On the jingle, he said, “We got together creative people, including school teachers, to pen it in local dialect. I was pleasantly surprised to know it was sung by our additional district magistrate Prabhati Lal.”

“I have been participating in ‘bhajan’ competitions since long. So I thought that I should try it out this time. People pay attention to the jingle as it has been sung by an ‘afsar’,” said Lal.
