Jaipur: The Jaipur police on Friday arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly duping a man by offering to sell them mines.
The Bani Park police arrested Adarsh Yadav, a resident of Kothputli in Jaipur, for allegedly duping the complainant of Rs 5 lakh on pretext of offering to sell his mine.
“The accused has a mine in Mamtori tehsil near Shahpura in Jaipur.
He met one Sanjay Khandelwal and offered to sell the mine at Rs 42 lakh. Khandelwal also paid Rs 5 lakh against a sale deed,” said Sanjay Kumar Arya, SHO, Bani Park.
Arya said that as per rules and regulations of the mining department, only the government can distribute the mines. But Yadav not only offered to sell his mine, but also took Rs 5 lakh from the complainant.
“When Khandelwal realized the fact that a mine that was offered to him could not be sold, he asked Yadav to return the money. But Yadav refused and said that he will not return the amount,” Arya said.
The complainant on October 13 filed a case against Yadav at Bani Park police station. The police registered an FIR under section 420 (Cheating and dishonestly) and 406 (criminal breach of trust).
Yadav was arrested on Bani Park and being quizzed by the investigation unit. On asked if Yadav had duped others in the same manner, Arya said that the investigation in being carried out. “So far we have not found his involvement in any other such case. He has been arrested only in the case which was registered against him by Khandelwal,” he said.
