Man gets 20 years jail for raping minor in Kota

Kota: A POCSO court in Kota Thursday sentenced a 35-year-old man to 20-year imprisonment for raping a 7-year-old girl in Kota city in Sept 2024. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh on the convict.According to the FIR, lodged under sections of the POCSO Act in Nayapura police station, the convict on Sept 1, 2024, lured the minor girl, a 2nd class student, with edibles to his room, where he raped her.The convict, who worked as a daily wage labourer, was a relative of the victim, officials said.The convict was in judicial custody since his arrest in Sept 2024 following the report in the matter.
