Man found dead at home in Chittorgarh; family suspects foul play
Bhilwara: A 40-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside his house in Chittorgarh’s Chanderia area Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation. While family members have alleged foul play, police said the exact cause of death will be known only after a detailed probe.
The deceased was identified as Yashwant Gawaria, a resident of Gawaria Mohalla. According to police, the incident came to light when a neighbour entered the house after noticing its door open and a cow wandering inside. She found Yashwant standing motionless, leaning against a refrigerator. When she tried to speak to him and later touched him, he collapsed to the floor.
The woman raised an alarm, drawing nearby residents to the spot, who informed the police. Chanderia police and Gangrar Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivprakash Tailor reached the house and inspected the scene. The body was later sent for postmortem examination.
Acting Chanderia SHO Champaram said preliminary inquiries revealed that Yashwant was addicted to alcohol. He was reportedly seen at home around 7.30 pm on Friday, when the television was still on. Police are examining whether he left the house later to meet friends or whether others visited him during the night.
Chittorgarh Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh said investigators are examining all allegations and possibilities raised by the family. “Every aspect is being investigated. The exact circumstances surrounding the death will become clear only after the investigation is completed,” he said.
