Lt Gen Sandeep Jain visits Konark Corps, reviews readiness and push for future-ready force

JAISALMER: Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, visited the Konark Corps area to review the formation’s operational preparedness and ongoing modernization efforts aimed at transforming it into a future-ready force.During the visit, Lt Gen Jain was briefed by senior officers on the current operational environment, readiness levels, and key initiatives being undertaken to enhance combat effectiveness.

He assessed the formation’s preparedness to respond to emerging security challenges and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of vigilance and professionalism.


A significant focus of the review was on technology absorption and the integration of advanced systems into operational frameworks. The Army is increasingly adopting modern technologies to strengthen surveillance, communication, and battlefield management capabilities.

Lt Gen Jain appreciated the efforts being made by the formation in embracing innovation and leveraging cutting-edge solutions to enhance operational efficiency.


The Army Commander also reviewed various transformative initiatives being implemented to align the formation with the vision of a future-ready force. These initiatives include modernization of equipment, improved training methodologies, and the adoption of new operational doctrines to meet evolving threats.
