Jaipur: The nine-day-old strike by judicial employees at the subordinate courts in the state has been suspended after successful talks between the government and employees union.
The lawyer representing the Rajasthan Judicial Employees Union Dr Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday informed the court, during the hearing of a PIL demanding restoration of judicial work in subordinate courts, that the employees union has decided to resume duty from Wednesday after talks between the government and leaders of striking employees union reached an agreement on most of the demands.

The employees have been on mass leave demanding the implementation of a 19-point demand, including the implementation of the Shetty commission recommendations on their pay and perks which was given to the judicial officers but not to the employees till now.
Rajasthan Judicial Employees Union president Natu Singh Tanwar said, "The government had already accepted five of their demands earlier. Today, agreement has been reached on 12 points at a meeting between the employees' representatives and the government representatives in the presence of acting Chief Justice Ajit Singh and two remaining points are under the active consideration of the government."
He said, "In the light of the successful talks, the agitation has been suspended. We will withdraw the strike after the government implements what has already agreed upon," he said.
The High court had taken a strong view on the strike by the employees and had asked the high court administration and the government to make alternative arrangements for the working of the courts from Tuesday putting pressure on both the employees and the government.
