Jaipur: Two inspection teams of the rural development and panchayati raj department found several irregularities in Tonk district during minister

Ramesh Chand

Meena’s visit. A few findings of the inspection teams include job cards of MGNREGA workers were not updated in many gram panchayats, mates at NREGA worksites were not trained and most of the community sanitary complexes (CSC) under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) were not functional.
The inspections were conducted at four gram panchayats. These include

Deoli Bhanchi

and Hatona gram panchayats in Tonk panchayat samiti and Ukhlana and

Mandawara gram

panchayats in Uniara panchayat samiti.
“The districts were instructed to update the job cards of the workers by March. However, the job cards of workers were not updated in many places. The entries to seven registers for NREGA work were incomplete or not updated. In some places, there were inadequate shelter/tent arrangements for NREGA workers,” said

Bhaskar Dutt Tripathi

, one of the members of the inspection teams.
“It has also been observed that mates working at NREGA worksites were not trained and required proper training. Also, the CSCs were not found to be in working condition at the gram panchayats. In some places, the quality of cement concrete roads were poor. The quality of drains constructed under the 15th finance commission were also substandard,” he added.
