The anti-terror squad of Madhya Pradesh police claims to have arrested four suspected members of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (Simi) including one wanted for the May 2008 Jaipur blasts.
JABALPUR/JAIPUR: The anti-terror squad of Madhya Pradesh police claims to have arrested four suspected members of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (Simi) including one wanted for the May 2008 Jaipur blasts. The arrests followed intelligence inputs, a police officer said. ���Of the four arrested, one is from Jabalpur and the others are from outside the city,������ he said. Police claimed the four were in Jabalpur to collect donations for Simi and Indian Mujahiddin.
Police said they found incriminating documents in their possession. They were produced before a Jabalpur court which remanded them in police custody on Wednesday morning.
Police said Imamur Rahman, one of the arrested activists, is a Simi secretary and wanted by the Rajasthan police in connection with the Jaipur blasts. Police claimed Imamur, a resident of Khandwa town in Madhya Pradesh, was also known to other Jaipur blast suspects like Mohammad Sajid, Karimudeen and Taukir. The Rajasthan police had registered a case against Imamur three months after the Jaipur blasts. Jabalpur range IG M R Krishna told reporters, ���Cases are registered against Imamur in Madhya Pradesh.������
