Jaipur: IPS officer Pankaj Choudhary's wife Sudha Gupta on Tuesday approached the State Women's Commission and filed a complaint against Choudhary.
Sudha alleged that Choudhary, without divorcing her, is presently in a live-in relationship with another woman. "To my knowledge, the two have also secretly got married. I am being pressurized to divorce my husband, who is no longer taking care of me and my daughter," she said, claiming that she was being threatened by Choudhary's live-in partner and his brothers.
Sudha claimed that she was forced to seek the intervention of the women's commission in order to get justice. "The divorce case is being unnecessarily stretched," said Sudha.
When contacted, Suman Sharma, chairperson of the commission, assured to take up the matter on Wednesday. "If found guilty, we will ensure action is taken against the accused. It does not matter what office he holds," said Sharma. Meanwhile, Choudhary refuted the charges and claimed the charges were a conspiracy against him. "The charges are false. We filed for a divorce in 2009 and the case is on," he said.
