Heroin worth ₹10cr seized, 8 held in Sriganganagar in 2 separate cases

Jaisalmer: In a joint action, the Border Security Force (BSF) and police seized 2 kilogram of heroin dropped through a drone by Pakistan and arrested four smugglers in Sriganganagar district on Tuesday.
In another incident on Monday, police nabbed four smugglers who came from Punjab to collect heroin consignment.
In both the incidents, heroin worth Rs 10 crore were seized and eight smugglers arrested.
According to Bikaner sector DIG Pushpendra Singh Rathore, G branch and BSF teams were deployed under the leadership of deputy commandant Deependra Singh Shekhawat. The BSF part at border pillar post 22MD heard the sound of the drone and the BSF team chased it and launched a search campaign and found a drone and two packets of heroin. Four smugglers who had come to take the delivery ran away taking the advantage of darkness and police were informed about it and cordoning was done, he said.
Ganganagar SP Paris Deshmukh said on Monday late night also during the blockading near 27A village, four smugglers were arrested. Three were residents of Punjab while one was resident of Anupgarh. They were in touch with the main smuggler in Punjab, he said. tnn
