Heat wave conditions aggravate in Rajasthan
Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 27.8°C and a maximum of 41.6°C on Monday. For the first time this season, the city’s maximum temperature went beyond 40°C. In the afternoon, roads wore an empty look as people were confined to their offices and homes. Outlets and cafes selling cold beverages saw a good number of customers during the day.
Barmer and Kota were followed by Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Sriganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Jalore, where a maximum temperature of 42.8°C was recorded. Next were Bharatpur at 42.5°C, Dholpur 42.3°C, Vanasthali and Jodhpur 42.2°C each, Pilani and Bikaner 42.1°C each, Fatehpur and Karauli 42°C each, Ajmer 41.2°C, Bhilwara 40.5°C, and Sikar with 39.5°C.
The Met office in its forecast said till May 9, most places in the state will continue to see maximum temperatures of or above 40°C. It said some places are likely to witness cloudy conditions.
Maximum temperature in Rajasthan likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius
Heat wave conditions continue in Rajasthan with rising temperatures. Maximum temperature may reach 44-45 degrees in Western Rajasthan. Heat waves expected in various districts at isolated places.
