Jaipur: The state health department has deployed senior officers to districts from Thursday to Saturday to strengthen emergency preparedness as heatwave conditions intensify.Teams will inspect hospitals and health centres, monitor readiness for heat-related illnesses, seasonal diseases and fire safety, and ensure facilities remain fully staffed and equipped.A senior official said a detailed inspection checklist has been issued for the visits.With heatwave and heatstroke risks expected to rise, medical institutions have been directed to set up dedicated treatment corners, maintain emergency services, and ensure availability of medicines and diagnostic facilities. Officials will verify these arrangements on the ground.Hospitals have also been instructed to provide shade and drinking water for patients and attendants. Inspection teams will check for shortages of fans, coolers, air-conditioners, water facilities, medicines and ORS.Food safety officers have been tasked with testing food and water samples at crowded places, hostels and other locations to ensure hygiene and safe consumption.
