Health officials unearth illegal hospital run by quack in Churu
JAIPUR: Health department officials along with the police unearthed a hospital running illegally by a quack who was allegedly planning to abort foetus of a minor girl in
Acting on time, health department raided the clinic run by the quack early in the morning and it continued till late on Saturday evening. The team was shocked to see the girl admitted in the hospital which did not have any facility for abortion. They found ‘safe abortion kit’ from the hospital along with several other medicines. There were some expired medicines, which were kept in the hospital. Also, the quack had a room, which was full of medicine.
When it came into notice of health department, a team of drug controller and also PCPNDT Bureau of Investigation (PBI) rushed to Churu for investigating into the matter. PBI is a police station under PCPNDT Act, which will investigate into the case of minor girl admitted for terminating her foetus.
“When we raided the premises, we found a minor girl who was pregnant. The quack Om Prakash Prajawat, was planning to abort fetus of a minor girl, who was pregnant. We shifted the girl to district hospital immediately,” said Dr
However, when the accused quack got the information about the raid, he fled from his clinic.
The health department team found different medicines, which have been seized. Dr Sharma said, “We have not found any certificate or degree in medicine of the accused quack, who was running the clinic in the area.”
Till late in the evening, the health department officials were taking stock each and every item, including drugs, which he used in treatment of the patients. They have found a bed and a stool a small room, which he allegedly used for admitting a patient.
Following the raid, the state health department launched a hunt for the quack who was running the illegal clinic.
