Health dept suspends 8 over RGHS irregularities
Jaipur: Health department has suspended eight personnel with immediate effect after a preliminary probe found serious irregularities in Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). The action is part of an ongoing statewide drive to curb misuse of RGHS benefits, with officials stating that disciplinary proceedings will be carried out under applicable service rules.Those suspended include Saurabh Kumar Rawat, nursing officer at RBM Hospital, Bharatpur; Meena Kumari Chaudhary, health worker at Sub Health Centre Khudasa, Bharatpur; Kishan Dei, health worker at Sub Health Centre Kuchawati in Deeg district; Satyaprakash Chhawadi, nursing officer at District Hospital Bayana, Bharatpur; Manju Kumari, senior nursing officer at Sub Health Centre Nagla May, Bharatpur; Tulsi Devi, health worker at Sub Health Centre Hanumanpura in Phalodi district; Anupama, health worker at Community Health Centre Uchain, Bharatpur; and Suresh Chand Gupta, nursing officer at RBM Hospital, Bharatpur.
A senior official said the state govt is taking continuous steps to ensure smooth operation of RGHS, including changes in rules and procedures and strict enforcement to deter wrongdoing. The official added that, so far, 19 FIRs have been registered in RGHS-related irregularity cases and approximately Rs 39 crore has been recovered from hospitals, pharmacies, and other stakeholders, with further action planned.The suspensions follow action taken a day earlier, when seven doctors were suspended for RGHS irregularities and an FIR was lodged against one hospital and one diagnostic centre. The latest probe concluded that the eight personnel misused RGHS facilities, cards, and govt funds.
