The court while staying the transfer order issued a notice to the secretary and director, secondary education, and former MLA Rita Chaudhary among others. The court said the petitioners would also draw their salaries from the place of their

schools

.

The single bench of justice S P Sharma issued the order on a petition by Mukulika Sharma and others.

Hanuman Chaudhary, counsel for the petitioner, said the applicants were transferred from Mandawa(Jhunjhunu) to Barmer at the behest of Chaudhary, who is likely to be fielded by the ruling party as a candidate from Mandawa. The transfers were affected not due to any administrative exigencies as claimed by the government counsel, but due to political considerations, Chaudhary said.

He pointed out that two of the petitioners, Pratibha Chaudhary and Shashi Sharma, have undergone surgeries for kidney and liver recently. The others were placed on awaiting postings orders (APO) and kept at Jhunjhunu to accommodate the wishes of the former MLA.
