Rajasthan HC seeks report on ‘land grabbing’ by Union minister

JAIPUR: Rajasthan High Court on Thursday sought a factual report on a petition alleging that Union minister and BJP candidate from Jodhpur Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and his company of usurped pubic land worth Rs 50 crore.
The division bench of the court asked the Anti-Corruption Bureau to furnish factual report within four weeks on a criminal petition by one Shanker Gujar.
A K Jain, counsel for the petitioner said, Nagar Nigam, Jodhpur in collusion with Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, presently MP and another person Rishabh Daga committed grave offence under Prevention of Corruption Act by forging land records and usurping public land worth of Rs 50 crore belonging to Nagar Nigam, Jodhpur.
He alleged the said land belonged to Malik Khan, Bahadur Mirza, Kasim Beig at Shanichar Than, Sardarpura-A Road, Jodhpur left for Pakistan after partition and as per law, their land became the ‘custodian property’ of state government.
But some people made forged land records in collusion with Nagar Nigam officials of Jodhpur, but the possession was not taken as Pakistani migrants were settled on the land. But in November 2011 Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, presently MP from Jodhpur and Central Minister joined Dhanlaxmi Real Mart Pvt. Ltd., as a director and holding around 19% share.
The petition alleged that the share-holding will show that other shareholders are interrelated except Shekhawat.
Soon after, Shekhawat joined as director of Dhanlaxmi Real Mart Pvt. Ltd. in January 2012, they purchased the land at throw away price, even half of DLC rate from the forged patta holders.
