Govt staff slam ex-IAS officer for criticising old pension scheme

Jaipur: General secretary of the All Rajasthan State Employees United Federation, Tej Singh Rathore, on Saturday reacted to a recent article written by former home secretary of India and chief secretary of Rajasthan Rajiv Mehrishi on the old pension scheme and said that the retired civil servant should himself adopt the new pension scheme (NPS) first before terming the Rajasthan government’s decision to reintroduce the old pension scheme a ‘fiscal disaster’.
Mehrishi had written an article in The Indian Express newspaper with the title ‘Why Rajasthan government’s decision to return to old pension scheme is a fiscal disaster’.
“The new pension scheme (NPS) should be withdrawn from the whole country. If Mehrishiji thinks the return to the old pension would lead to a fiscal disaster, then he should himself adopt the new pension scheme first,” said Rathore.
