Gehlot govt providing political protection to mafia, corrupt: Joshi
Jaisalmer: State BJP president C P Joshi led the party’s ‘jan akrosh mahagherao’ programmme in Barmer on Thursday, to protest against the Gehlot government over a range of issues, from corruption and deteriorating law-and-order to loan waiver and compensation for crop damage to farmers. Joshi along with Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union minister of state for agriculture Kailash Choudhary, state BJP general secretary Bhajanlal Sharma, district president Swaroop Singh Khara and others went door to door to spread party’s message and later, the BJP leaders led by Joshi submitted a memorandum to the district collector addressed to the governor. Addressing the public gathering at the programme, Joshi said that the Gehlot government was providing political protection to the mafia and the corrupt. He said that the CM was also the home minister, so his priority should be law and order, but saving his chair was his biggest priority.Shekhawat said at the gathering that there was anarchy in the state and criminals were threatening police officers. The Gehlot government was neck-deep in corruption, he said, claiming that there were 18 instances of exam paper leaks but the chief minister said no officer or political leader was involved. “Now officers are getting caught and if an investigation is done, their leader will also be caught,” Shekhawat said.Kailash Choudhary said that the Modi government in the past 9 years had done wonderful work in the interest of the nation and the people with various welfare schemes, while the Gehlot government was busy in infighting and corruption.
