JAIPUR: The city is in the grip of yoga fever. Now, the stage is all set for the International Yoga Day celebrations in the city. The health department and district administration have completed the preparations. Anticipating a huge rush towards the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium on Sunday, the traffic police would impose traffic restrictions, just like they do ahead of any international cricket match at the SMS Stadium.
The vehicles, apart from those heading towards SMS Stadium for the yoga event, will be diverted from Gandhi Nagar turn towards JLN Marg.
The vehicles coming from SMS Hospital side will be diverted to Takht-e-Shahi Road connecting JLN Marg. The other traffic diversions will be made at JDA Circle, Prithviraj T point, Bagaria Bhawan, Jyoti Nagar turn.
Only those vehicles will be diverted which are not coming to the SMS Stadium for the yoga programme. The vehicles heading for the yoga camp will get parking facilities at SMS Investment Ground, ground adjacent to Ambedkar Circle and Amroodon Ka Bagh. The gates of SMS Stadium will open at 5 am. Meanwhile, the rehearsal for the yoga camp was held at different places in the city on Saturday.
The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC), district administration along with other government departments and private institutes held yoga sessions on Saturday. The JMC has been organising yoga camps in different parts of the state for the past 15 days.
In the past few days, the craze for yoga has picked up steam. “I have been taking part in yoga camps being organised in the city. As a state-level celebration will be held at SMS stadium, I will definitely go to take part in it,” said Naresh Kumar, a private company’s employee.
District collector Krishan Kunal took part in a yoga camp held on the Collectorate premises on Saturday.
Anticipating a large gathering of yoga enthusiasts at SMS Stadium, heath minister Rajendra Rathore inspected the stadium to see the preparations before the event.
The vehicles heading for the yoga camp will get parking facilities at SMS Investment Ground, ground adjacent to Ambedkar Circle and Amroodon Ka Bagh. The gates of SMS Stadium will open at 5 am.
