FIR against co-op minister Dak for abusive language, threats against policemen
Bhilwara: An FIR was lodged against cooperatives and civil aviation minister Gautam Kumar Dak, following allegations of abusive language and threats directed at police personnel at the Dungla police station Thursday. The incident was reported to have occurred on May 25.
The FIR filed by station house officer Shaitan Singh details an alleged confrontation between minister Dak and three policemen. The minister allegedly expressed his anger over a complaint involving one of his party workers, claiming that the policemen extorted money from him.
The FIR says that minister Dak summoned the SHO and two constables, Laxminarayan and Vishnu, outside the police station on May 25. A purported audio recording of their three-minute interaction has surfaced online, suggesting that the minister used offensive language and made threats.
Minister Dak has denied the allegations, asserting that the voice in the audio is not his. “This voice does not seem to be mine. An attempt is being made to defame me,” Dak stated when approached for comment about the incident and the viral audio.
The FIR, filed under various sections of BNS highlights the seriousness of the charges against the minister, related to offences aimed at public servants. Although the investigation is intended to be forwarded to the state police’s crime investigation department in Jaipur, the Dungla station officer has opted to conduct the inquiry locally for the time being due to technical issues. As per the state govt’s orders, any FIR against a serving legislator or parliamentarian is investigated by the CID.
