Around 1200-year-old Tanot Mateshwari temple at Tanot village on Indo-Pak border is famous in the entire world by the name of Bammo Wali Devi. At the time of 1965-71 India-Pakistan war, people prayed at the temple and the goddess became known as Jawanon ki Devi and it is symbol of faith for devotees coming from various parts of the country. There a handkerchief room in the temple premises where people pray and tie kerchief for their wish to be fulfilled.

This Tanot Mata temple is 120km away from Jaisalmer. During Navratras, there is a huge crowd of devotees. The priest of this temple is a BSF jawan. The jawans not only take care of the temple, but also take care of thousands of pilgrims by providing food and extending other facilities. The temple has been decorated and lighted. BSF has also made medical arrangements for all the pilgrims.

Due to the increasing faith in temple a large number of devotees come on foot there. Strict security arrangements have been made due to it border area. Along with BSF jawans, police personnel have been deployed.
