Recently, the state government has put on hold two proposed elevated roads.
N C Mathur, said on Sunday, “During our visit, we have visited many elevated roads built using various techniques. There are elevated road at Barapullah and in Nallah.” He added, “For elevated roads constructed in heritage area in Delhi, we have to study the Delhi’s master plan too and then see what can be done in Jaipur.” The JDA will consider possibilities of constructing such a road from Bais Godaam to Sodala.
According to official sources, the project was put on hold because of the strong criticism against the proposed project which said the elevated roads will disturb the heritage look as the historical buildings like the Khasa Khoti, government hostel and other old building along MI Road will be covered.
Also, the height of the proposed elevated road would be around 20 metre (70 feet) and because of this, the project has been objected to,” the source said.
Sources said, other reasons for putting the project on hold is that construction of elevated roads on both these roads will be risky and there is no provision for diverting heavy traffic from these routes.
