The Union minister was speaking at an interactive session with intellectuals and professionals in Ganganagar district on Sunday at a programme organised to mark the completion of two years of Modi government.

She said her ministry has launched several initiatives for the development and strengthening of educational institutions in last two years. 'Unnayan Bharat Abhiyan' is one such initiative to connect educational institutions with people of the immediate neighbourhood. She exhorted each educational institution in the country to adopt five villages under the Unnayan Bharat Abhiyan so that the villages in immediate neighbourhood also benefit from presence of the institute.

Irani lauded Rajasthan for its pioneering initiatives in education and appreciated that in some places in the state, the practice of adoption of villages by educational institutions already exists.

The minister exhorted professionals like chartered accountants (CAs) to help people from poor and lower middle-class sections avail loans from banks and financial institutions to fund projects under the ambitious new programmes like StartUp India and StandUp India.

Similarly, she asked legal experts to provide free service to the poor.

She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreams of a prosperous and strong India and now India stands tall in the comity of nations due to his initiatives. She also lauded chief minister Vasundhara Raje for many welfare programmes like Bhamashah scheme launched under her leadership for the welfare of people.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP state president Ashok Parnami said the Congress party has never been accountable to the people.

He said that unlike Congress, BJP government submitted to people an account of works done in its first two years. He claimed that it is the first real transparent government as it has presented all the facts relating to various projects before the people.
