"We were called for a meeting but the talks were inconclusive. We have decided to continue our strike," said Dr Vijay Kapoor, secretary, private hospitals and nursing homes' society (PHNHS), who led the delegation.

Dr Kapoor said a "maha" rally in protest against the Right To Health (RTH) Bill will be taken out in the city on Tuesday in which doctors and their families and other healthcare staff will take part. It will start from RD hostel of SMS medical college and culminate at Albert Hall, he said.

Dr Kapoor said that the agitating doctors are receiving support from doctors in other states as well, and it is possible that they will reach Jaipur to participate in the rally. "In Haryana, the doctors will observe a day's bandh (strike) on Tuesday and it is expected that doctors from Haryana will come to Jaipur to take part in the rally," said Dr Kapoor.

Meanwhile, the statewide complete bandh by doctors practising in private hospitals and clinics continued for the 16th day on Monday in all the districts. Demonstrations were also held in many districts against the RTH Bill. Dr Sohan Kumawat, who has been sitting on a fast in Sirohi, reached Jaipur on Monday on the 5th day of his fast.
