JAIPUR: A doctor from a small town Srikaranpur in Sriganganagar district, some 10 kilometre from Pakistan border, bagged Guinness world record for removing gall bladder from a 273 days old patient.
The Guinness world record certificate says, "The youngest person to have gallstones and gall bladder removed is Haabil (India) born on August 14, 2014, who was 273 days old when he had the operation at Beniwal hospital, Srikaranpur, India." The operation was conducted on May 15.
He received the certificate on October 3.
Dr MP Beniwal, who conducted the surgery said, "It is quite rare that such a young baby is having gall bladder stones. Normally, it is found in the age group of people above 30 years.
Beniwal said that the baby had pain, vomiting and fever when he was brought to the hospital. They conducted diagnostic tests and found that the baby had stones in gall bladder. He said that since, the baby was quite young, it was a challenging surgery for him to remove the gall bladder.
