Devnani “directs” DM, SP to form SIT in Bijaynagar sexual abuse case

Ajmer: State Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani Saturday evening "directed" both Beawar collector and SP to form an SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate into the Bijaynagar sexual abuse case involving school-going minor girls.Over 10 people have been arrested and three have been detained since the sordid saga surfaced about a fortnight ago. The Speaker also asked for an investigation into the source of funding of the accused. Additionally, he set a mandate for the SIT to identify the illegal properties of the accused and demolish them immediately. "The objective is to reveal the faces of those running such illegal activities in society," said Devnani. A delegation of Sarva Samaj Sangarsh Samitti, along with BJP president of Ajmer Ramesh Soni, met Devnani at his residence in the dargah town Saturday.They briefed him about the Bijaynagar case and demanded an investigation through an SIT. "The delegation said that as per their preliminary understanding, the Bijaynagar case is an organised crime against minor girls. It is a conspiracy. If a special investigation is conducted, then more things will come out," added Devnani.After his meeting with the delegation, the Speaker called the district collector and SP of Beawar and directed them to form an SIT. "The SIT will arrest the remaining accused in the case, and a comprehensive investigation will be done to find out the funding sources of the accused," added Devnani. He directed the demolition of illegal constructions made by the accused so that crimes like this can be controlled. Devnani also asked for an investigation into the cafes running on highways, in residential areas, and in small places. "This will be a continuous investigation so that crimes like this can be stopped in timely manner," he said.He appealed to the parents, school administration, teachers, and students to report unusual activities to the police and administration. "People have not forgotten the Ajmer blackmail case, which remains a black spot. That's why such activities should not be repeated," added Devnani.
