Residents of Deoli-Uniara threaten boycott of bypolls
Youth state president of Kisan Mahapanchayat, Rameshwar Prasad Chaudhary, said, “If our demands are not met, we will either field our candidate for the bypolls or boycott elections. During Lok Sabha, residents of colonies near Bisalpur dam who were displaced 25 years ago boycotted polls.”
Among the demands raised by the farmers include rehabilitation and adequate compensation for their land parcels taken up for the construction of the Isarda Dam ERCP project.
“Basic facilities should be provided to residents of Bisalpur village who were displaced due to the construction of the dam. Irrigation facilities should be made available to farmers in Niwai, Peeplu, and Tonk through canals. Concrete steps should be taken to prevent crop damage by pigs in Newai, Tonk, and Banetha areas,” their demands said.
Other demands include reservation of 8 thousand million cubic feet of water from the Bisalpur Dam for farmers, which gets reduced when water inflow is low, maintenance and cleaning of Bisalpur Dam canals, enacting a law guaranteeing purchase of crops at MSP, prioritising mustard, chickpeas, moong, and urad beans.
Pavana dam-affected farmers not to accept land allocation letter from deputy CM
Farmers affected by the Pavana dam project in Pune refuse to attend deputy CM Ajit Pawar's event demanding a written promise of four acres of land each as previously assured. They claim the government letter only provides two acres. A total of 1,203 farmers await rehabilitation, with just 340 already compensated.
Water levels rise in Vishwamitri, Ajwa dam
Heavy rain in Vadodara has raised water levels in the Ajwa reservoir and Vishwamitri river, but no discharge has been made from the reservoir. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation is closely monitoring the situation and assures the public that theres no immediate danger. Precautionary measures are in place for low-lying areas at risk of flooding.

Residents of Gurunagar near Kulathoor on NH 66 demand a pedestrian underpass due to frequent accidents, citing safety issues for elderly and children. Despite advocating for years, their pleas remain unanswered. Kadakampally Surendran, MLA, has urged NHAI to address flawed drainage systems that compromise the area's infrastructure.
