Jaipur: Taking cognizance of the LPG cylinder blast incident killing two in a house close to Tadkeshwar Temple situated at Chaura Rasta area in the Walled City, the Rajasthan State
Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday sought a detailed report from Union petroleum and food & civil supplies ministry on the precautions and safety measures taken by the companies supplying LPG cylinders for domestic use.
Chairperson of the commission Justice Mahesh Chandra Sharma has also asked the ministries concern to give a detailed report by April 20. Two people were killed and one injured in a gas cylinder blast near Tadkeshwar Temple in Chaura Rasta area of Jaipur on Monday.
Justice Sharma took congnizance of the news reports and has asked if the agencies providing LPG cylinders for domestic use are taking enough safety and precautionary measures or not? In the report the respondents including union petroleum ministry and union food and civil supplies ministry have also been asked to provide a detail on if there is any prescribed expiry date of older LPG cylinders which are getting re-filled.
