The wanted gangster was identified as 33-year-old Vikrant Yadav who had Rs 30,000 reward on his arrest by Haryana and

Rajasthan police

.

SP Bhiwadi, Amandeep Kapoor told TOI, “The accused was on the run since Gujjar’s murder last year in July. He would keep changing his locations frequently and travelled through various states including MP, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and others. A team was constituted to track down the accused and police officials also went to many states to catch him. He was spotted in Delhi’s Connaught Place where he was shopping for Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend on Thursday.”

Following this the cops got close to the accused who got a hint of police presence and tried to flee but was arrested. He was also involved in the firing at a dairy in Behror when the owner had refused to give ‘protection money’ last year. During the time when he was on the run, Yadav also made extortion calls to traders and transporters demanding Rs 1 crore from them.

He never used mobile numbers to make calls but instead used other forms like WhatsApp calling which is untraceable. He also changed his phones regularly which made it difficult to pinpoint his exact location. Yadav is part of Vikram Laden’s gang who was arrested last month from Hyderabad. They would induct minors into their gang by posting photographs with weapons on social media and would make the youngsters do their dirty work while themselves remain in the background.
