JAIPUR: Political rivalry between Congress vice-president Archana Sharma and former chairperson of state women’s commission Suman Sharma took an ugly turn on Monday when the duo indulged in character assassination of each other.
Addressing the media, Congress’ Archana Sharma questioned BJP’s Suman Sharma’s relations with BJP MLA and former minister Kali Charan Saraf.

“What is the compulsion for Saraf to keep Suman Sharma with him is beyond comprehension. His relatives too have been feeling tortured over this for years. Too many tales keep coming over this,” the Congress leader said.
Reacting to Archana's charge, Suman Sharma said, “She should first tell why her party men call her 'Bunty and Bubli'? Since she has attacked my privacy, I want to ask who is Anand Shandilya? She should know that those who live in glass houses don't throw stones at others.”
Suman added, “My life is an open book, I do not need certificates from her. The kind of politics she has started is not good.”
Archana had lost the last two assembly elections against Saraf from city's Malviya Nagar seat in 2013 and 2018. Earlier, she and Suman Sharma were political rivals as councillors in Jaipur Municipal Corporation.
Attacking Saraf, the Congress leader, who is her party's media chairperson too, alleged that the BJP MLA has links with the liquor mafia.
“People believe that the thin majority with which Saraf won the assembly election in 2018 was equal to his defeat. I have been working to break his nexus with the liquor mafia. That is why these two BJP leaders, including Saraf, are criticising me,” Archana said.
